Shannon Gilks

Shannon is a final-year Master’s Osteopathy student at the British College of Osteopathic

Medicine, offering holistic therapeutic massage at St John’s Osteopathy and Acupuncture

Clinic. Her osteopathic training has provided her with a strong understanding of anatomy,

biomechanics, and the relationship between the nervous system and the body’s healing

processes, which she integrates thoughtfully into her massage treatments.

Her approach is calm, attentive, and tailored to the individual. Shannon has a particular

interest in chronic pain and the impact of stress on the nervous system, working gently and

intuitively to help clients release held tension and restore balance. Each session is shaped

around the client’s needs, whether addressing everyday stiffness, sports-related strain, or

stress-related discomfort.

As a former athlete, qualified athletics coach and official, she has developed a deep

appreciation for movement, performance, and injury management. Shannon’s approach is

holistic and patient-centred, considering posture, lifestyle, stress levels, and overall

wellbeing when planning treatment. She aims to provide a supportive space where clients

can reconnect with their bodies, reduce tension, and move towards improved health and

balance
